One Reply to “Why Worry”

  1. Goedemiddag Melanie,
it was pure coincidence that I found you and your wonderful acoustic Mark Knopfler versions on YouTube because I was actually looking for an electric guitar version of “Brothers in Arms”. But because I’m convinced that nothing happens in life without meaning, it’s probably no coincidence… Well, now not a day goes by without listening to your songs on YT and your quiet, calm way of playing. As an 79 year old Ex-Musician my illness no longer allows my hands to play, Distal Polyneuropathy called. But the positive effect is, that through you I learned “again” to no longer listen to music as a musician, but simply to get involved with the emotions, thoughts and feelings that arise. You play so gently, without clichés, so balanced, quietly and yet at the same time – I write this without any hollow flattery – optimism, joy and the heart-opening positive power that brings and spreads feelings. Not every musician can do this! This can be felt very clearly, especially with songs like “Why Worry”, “Going Home”, “Romeo And Juliet” or ” Private I nvestigations”. Actually with every song. I’m even happier that you play one of my three favorite guitar brands (My Acoustics: Taylor 724ce, D ‘Addario Strings XSAPB1253. The guitar is a gift from my Dad (R.I.P.) & Martin D-X2E Billy Strings, E-Guitars: Fender Clapton Strat Signature Black. E.C. & Mr. Knopfler are my guitar idols.
Finally I hope, that alle the positive feedbacks people have sent you, will give you the courage and power to go on further on your musical path. Your talent and your abillity is not everyday, but something special.
God bless and protect you on your path in life, both in music and in everyday life!
If you don’t mind to have such an old fan, I would be proud and my wife Thorid a little bit too…!
